FREELAND, Mich. – Olivet College senior Alistair Law has been tabbed the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Offensive Player of the Week for men's soccer.
Law broke Olivet's single-game record with five goals and 10 points in a 5-2 win over Bluffton (Ohio) University. He took 10 shots in the game, which ties for the third-most in school history for a game.
"Alistair put in one of the all-time great performances for an Olivet College men's soccer player this week," said Olivet head men's soccer coach Dan Montanye. "He opened the scoring in the third minute and had already completed his hat trick in the 28th minute of the match.
"Alistair ended the day with two more goals in the second half. The first goal came off a set piece which was curled masterfully over the opponent's wall in the 83rd minute. Alistair capped the historic performance a minute later when he converted from the penalty spot in the 84th minute."
Olivet returns to the field Wednesday when it hosts Defiance (Ohio) College at 4 p.m.
