OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College men's soccer team is hosting its second annual Breast Cancer Awareness Game Saturday, Oct. 8. The game against Kalamazoo College will start at 2:30 p.m.
As part of the day, there will be a bake sale and 50/50 raffle, as well as the team is selling pink T-shirts and wrist bands. Donations can be made in cash or check made payable to Olivet College Men's Soccer. They can also be made on the GoFundMe page set-up by the team.
If the GoFundMe page reaches $2,000, junior Vince Geremia will shave his head. He has been growing his hair for the last year in hopes of reaching the 10 inches required to donate and to create a wig for a cancer patient.
Last year's first-ever event raised $4,000, which was split between two charities, The Breast Cancer Foundation and The Pink Fund.
The day has a special meaning for senior Gregory Petty. His mother, Donna, fought Stage 3C Lobular Invasive Breast Cancer. She was recently tested and is cancer free!!
