Men’s soccer: Dunn named to Academic All-District VI team
Olivet College junior defender Austin Dunn has been named to the 2014 Capital One Academic All-District VI Men’s Soccer team, as selected by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
OLIVET, Mich. – Olivet College junior defender Austin Dunn has been named to the 2014 Capital One Academic All-District VI Men's Soccer team, as selected by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). He now advances to the Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected in November.
Dunn has a 3.90 grade point average (GPA) in biology. He has started all 19 games on the backline for the Comets. The defense has allowed only 33 goals in 1,717 minutes for a 1.73 goals against average. A 2013 Academic All-District VI pick, Dunn has collected two goals and two assists for six points this season. His goal at Kalamazoo College on Sept. 27 was the game-winner, while he assisted on the game-winner vs. Trine (Ind.) University Sept. 20.
In order to be selected to an Academic All-District team, a student-athlete must possess at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA and be at least a sophomore in academic and athletic standing. He must also be a starter or key reserve on the team.
