OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College men's soccer team shut out Kalamazoo College, 3-0, in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association match today at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet.
The Comets led 1-0 at halftime behind a goal by freshman Michael Brait. Sophomore Joey Sieg was credited with an assist on the goal. Olivet added another goal in the 13th minute of the second when senior Connor Plagens sent in a shot from 18 yards to the near post. Junior Jon Puente assisted on the goal. The Comets capped their scoring in the 67th minute when Sieg's shot deflected off a Hornet defender and into the net.

"It finally came together for us today and everybody played an excellent game," said Head Coach Dan Bulley. "The win was great but what pleases me most was the shut out. I have been demanding more from players defensively and this afternoon we showed maturity and growth. We must now take this performance into Saturday's game at Alma.
"Notable performances from Connor (Plagens) leading the attack with a fine individual effort and the entire defensive line for taking control today. Joey (Sieg) completed a fine performance with a goal and an assist on Brait's goal."
The Comets will travel to play Alma College Saturday afternoon at 2:30 p.m.
