ALBION, Mich. – The Olivet College men's soccer team opened Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play with a 2-0 loss to Albion College this afternoon at Alumni Field in Albion.
The Britons took a 1-0 lead with a goal with around 20 minutes left in the first half. Albion capped its scoring with a goal in the final 15 seconds of the contest.
"Albion was more hungry on the day," said Head Coach Dan Bulley. "They played great defensively, clearing several scoring chances off the back line. We just come out flat in the first half and you can't do that."
The Comets will return to the pitch Sunday afternoon when they travel to play DePauw (Ind.) University at 2 p.m. Olivet's next MIAA contest is Wednesday, Sept. 25, when it hosts Kalamazoo College at 4 p.m.
