SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Olivet College men's soccer team fell to Spring Arbor University, 3-1, tonight under the lights at SAU Soccer Complex in Spring Arbor.
The Cougars had a 1-0 lead at halftime behind a goal in the 34th minute. The Comets scored the equalizer in the 64th minute off a set piece. Sophomore Michael Moscone (Washington Twp./Warren De La Salle) served the ball into the box, where sophomore Matt Meldrum (Chesterfield Twp./Anchor Bay) headed the ball down and past the keeper for his first collegiate goal.
Spring Arbor grabbed the lead back with a goal around 10 minutes later. The Cougars capped their scoring with a penalty kick goal with only 28 seconds left in the game.
Olivet will host Elmhurst (Ill.) College Saturday afternoon for its home-opener, starting at 2 p.m.
