OLIVET, Mich. – Olivet College junior defender Cole Dehen (Kentwood/East Kentwood) has been named to the 2011 National Soccer Coaches Association of America College Division Scholar All-North/Central team. He is a second-team selection.
Dehen carries a 3.33 cumulative grade point average in insurance and risk management. On the soccer field, he was the anchor of the Comets' backline. A two-year captain, Dehen started 21-of-21 games played and topped the defenders with six points (two goals and two assists).
"This is a great honor for Cole," said Olivet Head Coach Chad Wiseman. "It just shows you we have the right student-athletes leading our soccer program on the field, in the classroom and throughout the community. The program's main focus is to have our student-athletes graduate. A captain leads by example in the classroom, and the other players on the team can do nothing but follow. Cole has demonstrated everything the Olivet athletic department is looking for in a student-athlete. He continues to lead this program into uncultivated territories."
