Olivet scored the only goal it would need in the 19th minute. During a scrum in the box, a Calvin player kicked a Comet. The play resulted in a red card for the player, and a penalty kick for Olivet. Sophomore Fred Smyser (Grand Rapids/ Forest Hills Eastern) buried the goal.
