NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. – The Olivet College men's soccer team battled to a 0-0 double overtime scoreless draw this afternoon at Manchester (Ind.) College. With the tie, the Comets have not allowed a goal in 5-of-6 games played this season.
Both teams took six shots in the first half, and placed four on-goal. The Spartans out-shot Olivet 9-5 in the second period and overtime sessions. The Comets did have a 7-1 advantage in corner kicks. Freshman Esteban Russell (DeWitt) led the way with six shots, including three on-goal. Freshman Alex Lang (West Bloomfield/Detroit Catholic Central) played the first 63 minutes, 10 seconds in goal and made five saves. Junior Sam Cusmano (Haslett) finished the game in goal and collected three saves.
Olivet (4-1-1) will stay in Indiana tonight and then travel across the border to play Bluffton (Ohio) University tomorrow afternoon at 5 p.m.
