May becomes all-time scoring leader in 2-0 win over Albion
Mike May became the college’s all-time assists and scoring leader, as the men’s soccer team shut out Albion College, 2-0, today at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet.

OLIVET, Mich. -- Senior Mike May (Mason) became the college's all-time assists and scoring leader, as the Olivet College men's soccer team shut out Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association rival Albion College, 2-0, today at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet.
May has 79 career points to pass Peter Keller, who had 78 points from 1989-92. For the assists record, he now has 20 to exceed Keith Slowik (1991-94) and Matt Wait (1995-98), who had 19 each.
The Comets got on the scoreboard just 3:52 into the game on freshman Daniel Hampsten's (Plainwell) first collegiate goal. May earned the assist on the goal. The score stayed 1-0 at halftime. Olivet added an insurance tally in the 88th minute on a goal by sophomore Matt Garza (Saline). Hampsten and May were each credited with assists.
For the game, Olivet had 10 shots, including seven on-goal. Hampsten led the way with four shots, followed by May with two. In goal, senior Ethan Felsing (Mason) posted the shutout. He faced six shots and made three saves.
Olivet will host Alma College Tuesday at 4 p.m.
