OLIVET, Mich. -- Playing at home for the first time this season, the Olivet College men's soccer team defeated Marygrove College, 1-0, today at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet.
The Comets scored their goal in the 61st minute. Freshman Adam Wright (Wixom/Walled Lake Western) sent a free kick from the middle of the field into the box, where sophomore Cole Dehen (Kentwood/East Kentwood) flicked the ball with his head to the far post and past the keeper.
Olivet doubled up the Mustangs in shots, 14-7. Senior Mike May (Mason) led the way with six, including four on-goal. Senior Ethan Felsing (Mason) posted his third straight shutout in goal and made two saves.
"The game was very physical," said Head Coach Chad Wiseman. "We had a nice push from our younger players. We also had some great scoring chances but just couldn't finish them. Overall, it was nice to get a win on our home field."
The Comets are now idle for one week when they host Manchester (Ind.) College at 2:30 p.m.
