The Olivet College men’s soccer team defeated Alma College, 1-0, in its season-finale this afternoon at Scotland Yard in Alma.

The Olivet College men's soccer team defeated Alma College, 1-0, in its season-finale this afternoon at Scotland Yard in Alma.
There was no scoring in the first half. Olivet got on the scoreboard with seven minutes, 26 seconds left in the game when junior Mike May (Mason) scored on a breakaway. Freshman Cole Dehen (Kentwood/East Kentwood) was credited with an assist. Alma had a chance to tie the game just under three minutes left in the game when Andrew Waligorski attempted a penalty kick shot. Olivet keeper Ethan Felsing (Mason) saved the shot to preserve the win.
The Comets had a slight 9-8 margin in shots, and 3-2 edge in shots-on-goal. May had four shots. Felsing made two saves to record his ninth shutout of the season.
Olivet ends its season with an 11-6-3 overall record and 7-4-3 mark in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play. Coupled with Trine's 1-0 victory over Kalamazoo, the Comets finish in third-place in the MIAA standings.
