FREELAND, Mich. – Olivet College freshman Connor Hamm has garnered Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Defensive Player of the Week honors for men's lacrosse.
Hamm played a key role in helping the men's lacrosse team defeat Adrian College, 15-10, in its MIAA-opener. He caused a single-game school record eight turnovers, while tying for the second-most ground balls with 14. Hamm also tallied his first goal of the season.
"Connor had his stick in every passing lane against Adrian," said head coach Matt Holtz. "He was able to get the ball on the ground, then pick it up and go. Connor was a big addition to our program this spring. Moving forward, he will be tasked with stopping our opponent's best midfielder and make sure we can get possessions on face-offs."
Olivet hosts Hope College tomorrow night. Game time at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet is 7 p.m.
