MIAA TOURNAMENT: The Comets are the No. 4 seed, while the Bulldogs are the No. 1 seed. The other semifinal game features #2 seed Albion College hosting No. 3 seed Trine (Ind.) University. The winners will face off in the championship game Saturday, May 3, at a time to be determined.
REGULAR SEASON MATCH-UP: Adrian defeated Olivet, 15-5, April 15, at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet.
OLIVET HEAD COACH ADAM HAGUE: Adam Hague is in his second season as the Comets' head coach. He led Olivet to a 10-7 overall record in its inaugural season of men's lacrosse during the 2013 season.
ADRIAN HEAD COACH DON LASALA: Don LaSala is in his third season as the Bulldogs' head coach and has compiled a 42-9 record.
CAPTAINS: The 2014 team captains are sophomore Cameron Bazin, of Troy, senior Kyle Borek, of Holt, sophomore James Collins, of Ada, and junior Ryan McGee, of Traverse City.
SCORING LEADER: Bazin leads the Comets with 60 points on 43 goals and 17 assists. Collins is right behind him with 52 points (42 goals and 10 assists). Sophomore Dakota Badder, of Troy, and freshman Nino Minaudo, of Rochester Hills, each has 38 points. Badder has a team-leading 18 assists to go along with 20 goals, while Minaudo has 24 goals and 14 assists.
PROTECTING THE CAGE: McGee has played nearly 800 minutes in the cage, allowing 129 goals for a 9.69 goals against average. He has made 173 saves with a .573 save percentage.
LEAGUE LEADERS:Bazin ranks among the MIAA leaders in shots per game (first, 9.69), ground balls per game (fourth, 5.53), goals per game (fourth, 2.69), points per game (sixth, 3.75) and assists per game (10th, 1.06). Collins is fifth in goals per game (2.62) and seventh in points per game (3.25).
GAME-WINNING GOALS: Collins has tied for the league lead with three game-winning goals.
MORE THAN 100: Bazin and Collins reached the 100 career goal plateau in the same game earlier this season. Bazin enters the tournament with 112 career goals, as well as 47 assists for 159 points. Collins has scored 105 goals to go along with 17 assists for 122 points.
MIAA TOURNAMENT HISTORY: The MIAA Men's Lacrosse Tournament is only its second year of existence. In the first-ever tournament last season, Adrian defeated Albion, 12-10, in the championship. In the semifinals, Adrian beat Hope (24-12), and Albion beat Trine (14-4).
