Men’s lacrosse team loses to Concordia, 15-7

OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College men's lacrosse team fell to Concordia (Wis.) University, 15-7, today at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet.
The Comets scored the first goal of the game at the 8:53 mark of the first quarter when sophomore Dakota Badder (Troy/Athens) found the back of the net off a pass from sophomore Matt Arb (Troy/Athens). The Falcons scored twice in the opening quarter to take a 2-1 lead.
Olivet tied the game at 2-2 after sophomore Cameron Bazin (Troy/Athens) tallied a goal off a feed from freshman Tyler Polendo (Battle Creek/Lakeview). Concordia answered with five consecutive goals for a 7-2 lead. The Comets got one goal back with nine seconds left before halftime. Sophomore James Collins (Lowell) netted the goal and sophomore Jack Ranson (Nobleton, Ontario/St. Michael's) earned the assist.
The Falcons out-scored Olivet, 5-0, in the third quarter to gain a commanding 12-3 lead. The teams traded goals in the fourth stanza, with four different Comets scoring a goal. Collins had a man-up goal, while Badder, Polendo and sophomore Sheldon Berry (Traverse City/Central) each scored a goal.
For the game, Badder and Collins both scored a pair of goals. Polendo finished with a team-leading three points, one goal and two assists. Bazin had one goal and one assist for two points to go along with a team-high nine total shots, including seven on-goal. Junior Ryan McGee (Traverse City/Central) was the losing keeper, as he faced 45 total shots and made 10 saves.
The Comets are back in action Wednesday when University of Dubuque (Iowa) visits the Cutler Athletic Complex for a 4 p.m. non-conference contest.
