Olivet College’s Bazin named MIAA Offensive Player of the Week for men’s lacrosse
Olivet College freshman Cameron Bazin (Troy/Athens) has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Offensive Player of the Week honors for men’s lacrosse.
OLIVET, Mich. – Olivet College freshman Cameron Bazin (Troy/Athens) has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Offensive Player of the Week honors for men's lacrosse.
Bazin scored 24 goals and assisted on 10 more goals, as the Comets won four games last week to run their winning streak to six games. In a 24-1 win over Johnson State (Vt.) College March 10, he had seven goals and three assists. Bazin then contributed five goals and one assist in a 24-0 shutout win against Green Mountain (Vt.) College March 12. He ended the trip to Vermont with a single-game school record nine points and 11 points in a 22-4 victory against Lyndon State (Vt.) College March 14. Bazin finished the week with three goals and four assists in Olivet's 14-3 win at Defiance (Ohio) College March 16.
For the week, Bazin topped the team with 34 points and 56 total shots, including 37 on-goal, and 42 groundballs. For the season, he leads the team with 51 points, 18 assists, 96 shots and 75 groundballs. Bazin is second with 33 goals and 56 shots-on-goal.
The Comets return to action Saturday when they travel to play Beloit (Wis.) College at 4 p.m. EST/3 p.m. CT.
