Men’s Golf: Olivet is eighth at MIAA Jamboree #1

JACKSON, Mich. – The University of Olivet men's golf team opened Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play by taking eighth at the first league jamboree this fall. Albion College hosted the 18-hole outing at the Cascades Golf Course.

- Top UO Individual: Mitchell Bair-Pollard and Connor Jewell (+12), T37th of 53
- The Comets posted a 341 team score.
- Calvin University and Trine (Ind.) University tied for first in the team standings with 291s.
- Ethan Tiller from Calvin shot a four-under par 68 to earn medalist honors.
- Sophomore Mitchell Bair-Pollard and junior Connor Jewell carded matching 84s for Olivet. Bair-Pollard had a team-best 41 on the front nine and 43 on the back nine, while Jewell had identical 42s on the front and back nine.
- Freshman Brady Applegate shot 43s on the front and back nines for an 86.
- Freshman Noah LaValley was next at 87 (43-44).
- Junior Dylan Beck completed his round in 88 (45-43) strokes.
- The Comets participate in the MIAA Jamboree #2 next Monday, September 25, at the Muskegon Country Club. Calvin University is the host school.
