BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – The Olivet College men's golf team sits in 12th-place after the round day of the 2018 Lou Collins Memorial Tournament at the Bedford Valley Country Club in Battle Creek.

Par / Yardage: 72 / 6,707 yards
- The Comets carded a 321 team score and are only three strokes behind 11th-place Albion College. Madonna University is 10th at 317.
- Hope College leads the 14 team field with a 287. Allegheny (Pa.) College is second at 298, followed by Trine (Ind.) University at 299. The rest of the top five are Calvin College, 303; and Spring Arbor University, 304.
- Cameron Conley from Spring Arbor is the individual leader with a five-under par 67.
- Senior Joey Richmond matched his career-best with a 74, including a one-under par 35 on the back nine. His round featured three birdies.
- Sophomore Nicholas Hoffman was next with a 79.
- Sophomore Cameron Lemon needed 81 strokes to complete his round.
- Freshman Jacob Wester finished his round in 87 strokes.
- Freshman Mason Evans shot a 93.
- Tomorrow's second round gets under way at 9 a.m.
