BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – The Olivet College men's golf team is in seventh-place after the first day of the 2017 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Fall Finale Tournament at the Battle Creek Country Club.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Comets carded to a 321 team score, just two strokes behind sixth-place Albion College.
- Hope College has a two-stroke lead over Calvin College, 289-291. Trine (Ind.) University is two more strokes behind at 293, followed by Kalamazoo College, 306; and Adrian College, 309. Alma College is in eighth-place at 346.
FOR THE COMETS
- Senior Tanor Blowers had the best round for Olivet with a 75.
- Freshman Nicholas Hoffman is three strokes behind at 78.
- Senior Joey Richmond and freshman Cameron Lemon both had an 84, including matching 42s on the front and back nine.
- Sophomore Zach Sturgill finished his round in 87 strokes.
MIAA STANDINGS
- Entering tomorrow's final round of the fall season, Calvin has an eight-stroke advantage over Hope, 1453-1461. Trine is third at 1516, followed by Kalamazoo, 1533; Adrian, 1551; Albion, 1582; and Olivet, 1597.
