Men’s golf team places seventh at Ken Venturi Classic
The Olivet College men’s golf team finished in seventh-place at the Ken Venturi Classic, hosted by Trine (Ind.) University and played today at the Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Indiana.

ANGOLA, Ind. – The Olivet College men's golf team finished in seventh-place at the Ken Venturi Classic, hosted by Trine (Ind.) University and played today at the Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Indiana.
THE BASICS
Location: Zollner Golf Course; Angola, Ind.
Format: Modified Ryder cup
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the modified Ryder Cup format, each school had three pairs that turned in a score. Holes one to six were played as a scramble, seven to 12 as better ball and holes 13 to 18 as alternate shot.
- Hope won with a team total of 199 shots. Olivet totaled 231 shots.
FOR THE COMETS
- Junior Tanor Blowers and senior Matt Sherry teamed for a 70 total.
- Junior Joey Richmond and freshman Zach Sturgill totaled 75 strokes.
- Freshmen Logan Stefanko and Garret Tanner finished with an 86 total.
UP NEXT
- The Comets will participate in the Earlham (Ind.) College Invitational tomorrow at the Forest Hills Country Club in Richmond, Indiana. The outing has a 10 a.m. shotgun start.
