Men’s golf team places eighth at MIAA Jamboree #1
The Olivet College men’s golf team placed eighth at the first MIAA Jamboree of the 2016 season, held today at the Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Indiana.

ANGOLA, Ind. – The Olivet College men's golf team placed eighth at the first Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Jamboree of the 2016 season, held today at the Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Indiana.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Comets posted a 330 team score, which was 15 strokes behind seventh-place Alma College.
- Hope College took first-place with a 284. Kalamazoo College and Trine tied for second with 288s. Calvin College was fourth at 290, followed by Adrian College, 301; and Albion College, 305.
- Grant Brettnacher was the medalist with a two-under par 69.
FOR THE COMETS
- Junior Tanor Blowers carded the Comets' low score with an 80.
- Senior Matt Sherry was one stroke behind with an 81.
- Freshman Logan Stefanko finished his round in 84 strokes.
- Freshman Zach Sturgill had an 85.
- Freshman Garret Tanner needed 95 strokes to complete his round.
NEW FORMAT
- In 2016, the MIAA is using a new format to determine its conference men's golf champion. Four schools will host a jamboree on their home course and a two-day finale tournament will take place Oct. 7-8 at the Battle Creek Country Club. The school with the lowest cumulative total after the six rounds will be crowned the MIAA champion.
