The Olivet College men’s golf team is in ninth-place after day one of the 2016 Manchester (Ind.) University at the Honeywell Golf Course in Wabash, Indiana.
WABASH, Ind. – The Olivet College men's golf team is in ninth-place after day one of the 2016 Manchester (Ind.) University at the Honeywell Golf Course in Wabash, Indiana.
The Comets posted a 327 team score to sit eight strokes ahead of 10th-place Wabash (Ind.) College and only one stroke behind eighth-place Anderson (Ind.) University. Transylvania (Ky.) University is in first-place with a 288. The rest of the top five teams are Mount St. Joseph (Ohio) University, 302; Defiance (Ohio) College, 303; Franklin (Ind.) College, 305; and Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (Ind.), 305.
Senior Benjamin Hart had Olivet's best round with a 78. The next three players were each within two strokes of each other, Sophomore Tanor Blowers had an 81, followed by junior Matt Sherry, 83; and senior Tony Skuratovich, 85. Senior Jake Maas was the last Comet in the lineup and finished with an 88.
The second round starts tomorrow morning at 9 a.m.
