Men’s golf team is eighth at MIAA Jamboree #5
The Olivet College men’s golf team finished in eighth-place at the MIAA Jamboree #5. The outing was at the Zolner Golf Course in Angola, Indiana.
ANGOLA, Ind. – The Olivet College men's golf team finished in eighth-place at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Jamboree #5. The outing was at the Zolner Golf Course in Angola, Indiana.
The Comets returned to the clubhouse with a 327 team score, which was only four strokes behind seventh-place Alma College. Trine (Ind.) University used its home course to an advantage by taking first-place with a 287. Hope College was five strokes behind with a 292, followed by Calvin College, 294; Adrian College, 304; Kalamazoo College, 308; and Albion College, 313.
Senior Benjamin Hart was Olivet's top finisher, as he carded a 78. The Comets' next three golfers were separated by three strokes, led by junior Matt Sherry's 81. Sophomore Tanor Blowers and junior Zachary Gray both had an 84. Senior Jake Maas finished his round in 88 strokes.
Olivet will travel to Grand Rapids next Monday, Sept. 28, for the next MIAA jamboree at the Watermark Country Club.
