Men’s golf team finishes in seventh-place at MIAA Jamboree #2
Playing on its home course, Bedford Valley Country Club in Battle Creek, the Olivet College men’s golf finished in seventh-place at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Jamboree #2.
BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – Playing on its home course, Bedford Valley Country Club in Battle Creek, the Olivet College men's golf finished in seventh-place at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Jamboree #2.
The Comets posted a 321 team, which was only two strokes behind sixth-place Adrian College and six strokes behind fifth-place Albion College. Calvin and Hope took first-place with 293s. Two Hope golfers, Josh Gibson and Kade Hoeksema, and Nick Ludka from Kalamazoo all shared medalist honors with one-under par 71s.
Senior Benjamin Hart carded a career-best 72 to lead Olivet and tie for fourth-place in the player standings. His round featured five birdies, eight pars and five bogeys. Junior Matt Sherry shot a 79, including an eagle on the par 5, 543-yard No. 4 hole.
Sophomore Tanor Blowers and junior Zachary Gray both shot an 85. Senior Jake Maas was two strokes behind with an 87. Sophomore Dylan Searle was an individual scorer and completed his round in 92 strokes.
The third league jamboree is Saturday at Pine River Country Club in Alma.
