Men’s golf team places seventh at first MIAA Jamboree
The Olivet College men’s golf team placed seventh at the first of eight Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) jamborees, held today at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall.
MARSHALL, Mich. – The Olivet College men's golf team placed seventh at the first of eight Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) jamborees, held today at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall.
The Comets carded a 331 team score. Calvin College took first-place with a 308, followed by Trine (Ind.) University, 311; 312; Hope College, 313; Albion College, 318; and Adrian College, 320. Ben Van Scoyk from Calvin, Corey Bremigan from Trine and Kade Hoeksema from Hope all shared medalist honors with two-over pars 74.
Olivet was led by senior Benjamin Hart, who completed his round in 78 strokes to finish tied for 11th in the player standings. Sophomore Tanor Blowers was next with an 82. Junior Matt Sherry had an 85, followed by junior Zachary Gray at 86 and senior Jake Maas at 97.
The Comets host the second MIAA jamboree next Tuesday, Sept. 15, at the Bedford Valley Country Club in Battle Creek.
