Men’s golf: Comets shoot season-best 317 at Gettig Invitational
The Olivet College men’s golf team posted a season-best 317 team score today at the Bill Gettig Invitational, hosted by Trine (Ind.) University and played at the Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Indiana.
ANGOLA, Ind. – The Olivet College men's golf team posted a season-best 317 team score today at the Bill Gettig Invitational, hosted by Trine (Ind.) University and played at the Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Indiana.
Hope College won the team title with a 282 team score. Evan Telzerow from Hope was the tournament medalist with a four-under par 67. Madonna University was second with a 284, followed by Bethel (Ind.), 286; Trine, 290; Saint Francis (Ind.), 298; Calvin, 298; Cleary, 299; Rochester, 300; Adrian, 301; Siena Heights, 302; Lourdes (Ohio), 307; and Albion, 315.
Freshman Tanor Blowers led the Comets with a three-over par 74. Junior Benjamin Hart was next with a 77, followed by sophomore Matt Sherry with a 79. Senior Jake Maas completed his round in 87 strokes. Sophomore Jacob VanDeusen was a stroke behind with an 88.
Olivet is off until Saturday, April 18, when it competes at the Manchester College Invitational at the Honeywell Golf Course in Wabash, Indiana.
