Men’s golf: Comets are seventh at MIAA Jamboree #5
The Olivet College men’s golf team carded a 322 team score to finish in seventh-place at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Jamboree #5 today at the Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Ind.
ANGOLA, Ind. – The Olivet College men's golf team carded a 322 team score to finish in seventh-place at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Jamboree #5 today at the Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Ind. After five jamborees, the Comets maintain their seventh-place spot in the overall league standings.
The Comets' 322 team score was five strokes behind sixth-place Albion College. Hope College captured the team title with a 288.
Junior Benjamin Hart tied for 18th in the player standings with a 77. Sophomore Matt Sherry was two strokes behind with a 79. Freshman Tanor Blowers and sophomore Jacob VanDeusen both posted an 83. VanDeusen's 83 was a career-best. Sophomore Joseph Gauck completed his round in 86 strokes.
Olivet competes at the next jamboree Monday, Sept. 29, at the Watermark Country Club in Grand Rapids.
