Men’s golf: Olivet maintains seventh-place in overall MIAA standings
At the halfway point of its 2014 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association schedule, the Olivet College men’s golf team sits in seventh-place in the team standings.
KALAMAZOO, Mich. – At the halfway point of its 2014 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association schedule, the Olivet College men's golf team sits in seventh-place in the team standings. The placement is by virtue of a seventh-place finish at today's fourth league jamboree at the Kalamazoo Country Club.
The Comets posted a 329 team score in today's round and now have a four-round total of 1,310 strokes. Trine (Ind.) University won today's jamboree with a 297 and now trail Hope College in the overall standings by one stroke, 1208-1209. Adrian took second with a 298, and are only one stroke behind Calvin for third overall, 1220-1221.
Junior Benjamin Hart led Olivet in today's jamboree with a 79. Freshman Tanor Blowers was next with an 81, while sophomore Matt Sherry was a stroke behind with an 82. Sophomore Joseph Gauck completed his round in 87 strokes. Sophomore Jacob VanDeusen finished with a 93.
The fifth jamboree will take place Saturday at the Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Ind.
