Men’s golf: Comets finish seventh at MIAA Jamboree #3
For the third consecutive time this season, the Olivet College men’s golf team has finished in seventh-place at a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree. Today’s event was held at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall.
MARSHALL, Mich. – For the third consecutive time this season, the Olivet College men's golf team has finished in seventh-place at a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree. Today's event was held at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall.
The Comets returned to the clubhouse with a 338 team score. The race for first-place was a tight one, with Trine (Ind.) University claiming the top spot by two strokes over Calvin College, 305-307. Hope College was a close third at 309, followed by Adrian, 314; Kalamazoo, 315; and Albion, 326. Alma College was a distant eighth-place with a 390.
Junior Benjamin Hart posted Olivet's best individual score with a seven over par 79. Sophomore Joseph Gauck carded an 83, and freshman Tanor Blowers was one stroke behind with an 84. Sophomore Matt Sherry finished with a 92, while sophomore Jacob VanDeusen posted a 95.
The next league jamboree is Monday, Sept. 22, at the Kalamazoo Country Club.
