Men’s golf: Olivet places seventh at MIAA Jamboree #2
The Olivet College men’s golf team placed seventh at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree #2 today at the Lenawee Country Club in Adrian.
ADRIAN, Mich. – The Olivet College men's golf team placed seventh at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree #2 today at the Lenawee Country Club in Adrian.
The Comets posted a 319 team score, which was only two strokes behind sixth-place Kalamazoo College. Hope College edged Calvin College for first-place by three strokes, 296-299. The host Bulldogs were third at 303, followed by Trine (Ind.) University and Albion College at 307 and 311, respectively.
Sophomore Matt Sherry had Olivet's best individual score with a 77. Freshman Tanor Blowers was next at 80. Junior Benjamin Hart also shot an 80. Sophomore Joseph Gauck carded an 82, while sophomore Jacob VanDeusen had a 90.
The third (of eight) league jamborees is next Thursday, Sept. 18, at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall.
