Men’s golf: Comets finish in seventh-place at season-opening jamboree
The Olivet College men’s golf team finished in seventh-place at the first Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree today at the Pine River Country Club in Alma.
ALMA, Mich. – The Olivet College men's golf team finished in seventh-place at the first Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree today at the Pine River Country Club in Alma.
The Comets posted a 324 team score to finish 42 strokes ahead of eighth-place Alma College. Hope College took first-place with a 299, followed by Trine, 300; Calvin, 306; Adrian, 306; Kalamazoo, 309; and Albion, 318. Trine's Corey Bremigan was the medalist with a 72.
Freshman Tanor Blowers tied Calvin's Ben Van Scoyk for fourth-place in the player standings with a 74. Junior Benjamin Hart and sophomore Matt Sherry both carded an 82. Joseph Gauck was next at 86, followed by sophomore Zachary Gray at 96.
Olivet is off until next Saturday, Sept. 13, for the second MIAA Jamboree. Adrian is the host, and it will be played at the Lenawee Country Club.
