Men’s golf team finishes in eighth-place at Ted Barclay Invitational
The Olivet College men’s golf team finished in eighth-place (of nine schools) at the Ted Barclay Spring Invitational, which was played at the Granville Golf Course in Granville, Ohio.
GRANVILLE, Ohio – The Olivet College men's golf team finished in eighth-place (of nine schools) at the Ted Barclay Spring Invitational, which was played at the Granville Golf Course in Granville, Ohio.
The Comets had a 335 team in today's second round to combine with yesterday's 321 for a two-round total of 656 strokes. Wittenberg (Ohio) University won the team championship with back-to-back 295s for a 590.
Senior Nick Julian (Clinton Twp./Chippewa Valley) was part of four-way tie for 13th-place in the player standings with a two-round score of 151 strokes. He shot a 76 in Saturday's first round and improved by one stroke today with a 75. Sophomore Benjamin Hart (Rockford/Lowell) also lowered his score by one stroke with a 77 today for a 155 total. Freshman Matt Sherry (Salem Twp./South Lyon) had a two-round score of 172 (82-90) strokes. Freshman Jacob VanDeusen (Clinton Twp./Clintondale) completed his second round in 93 strokes, an eight-stroke improvement from Saturday, to give him a two-round total of 194.
Olivet will play their final two-round, 36-hole tournament next Friday and Saturday, April 18-19, at the College of Wooster (Ohio)/Nye Intercollegiate.
