Men’s golf team finishes in eighth-place at MIAA Jamboree #7
The Olivet College men’s golf team finished in eighth-place at the seventh Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) jamboree of the 2013 season, played today at the Wuskowhan Players’ Club in West Olive.
WEST OLIVE, Mich.- The Olivet College men's golf team finished in eighth-place at the seventh Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) jamboree of the 2013 season, played today at the Wuskowhan Players' Club in West Olive.
The Comets posted a 348 team score. Hope captured the team title with a 290, followed by Trine, 305; Alma, 314; Calvin, 316; Albion, 321; Kalamazoo, 329; and Adrian, 331. Collin Breit and Ben Lewis from Hope shared medalist honors with 71s.
Senior Nick Julian led the way for Olivet with an 81. He had a 43 on the front nine and 38 on the back nine. Sophomore Benjamin Hart carded an 84, with a 41 on the front nine and a 43 on the back nine. The freshmen trio of Matt Sherry, Joseph Gauck and Zachary Gray shot an 88, 95 and 106, respectively. Junior Jake Maas played as an individual and recorded a 97.
The final league jamboree is set for Monday, Oct. 7 at Watermark Country Club in Grand Rapids.
