Men’s golf team ties for fifth at MIAA Jamboree #2
The Olivet College men’s golf team tied for fifth-place at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Jamboree, which was played today at Adrian College’s home course, Lenawee Country Club.
ADRIAN, Mich. – The Olivet College men's golf team tied for fifth-place at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Jamboree, which was played today at Adrian College's home course, Lenawee Country Club.
The Comets tied Hope College, as both schools had a 309. Calvin College took first-place at 295, followed by Trine (Ind.) University at 302. Adrian and Albion tied for third-place with 308s.
Olivet junior Nick Julian (Clinton Twp./Chippewa Valley) along with James VanNoord from Calvin and Nick Ihrie from Trine shared medalist honors with 72s. The rest of the Comets' lineup was senior Justin Ardelean (Owosso) at 73, freshman Benjamin Hart (Rockford/Lowell) at 80, senior Cody Crites (Owosso) at 84 and junior Chris Watkins (Bangor) at 91.
Calvin and Trine sit on top of the overall seasonal MIAA standings with two-round totals of 604 strokes. Hope is third at 611, followed by Adrian 614, Olivet 618, Albion 622, Alma College 625 and Kalamazoo 629.
The Comets will now get their opportunity to host a MIAA Jamboree on Wednesday, Sept. 19, at the Bedford Valley Country Club in Battle Creek. Event has a 1 p.m. shotgun start.
