Men’s golf team finishes in fifth-place at MIAA Jamboree #7
The Olivet College men’s golf team finished in fifth-place at the MIAA Jamboree #7 today at the Watermark Country Club in Grand Rapids.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Olivet College men's golf team finished in fifth-place at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Jamboree #7 today at the Watermark Country Club in Grand Rapids.
The Comets had a 317 team score. Hope won the championship with a 309. Trine (Ind.) University was the runner-up at 310, followed by Alma 311 and Adrian 315. Behind Olivet was Albion at 318, the host Knights 332 and Kalamazoo 349.
The Comets' top three golfers were each separated by one stroke. Freshman Kory Roberts (Battle Creek/Lakeview) led the way with a 77 to tie for seventh in the player standings. Sophomore Nick Julian (Clinton Twp./Chippewa Valley) was next at 78, followed by junior Justin Ardelean (Owosso) at 79. Senior Cameron Sich (Saginaw/Frankenmuth) completed his round in 83 strokes, and junior Ronnie Fesko (Henderson/Owosso) rounded out the Olivet lineup with an 86.
Entering the final jamboree Saturday at the Lenawee Country Club in Adrian, the Comets also sit in fifth-place in the overall standings with 2,175 total strokes. Hope leads the field with 2,144 strokes and Alma is second with 2,164 strokes. Trine is third at 2,167, followed by Adrian at 2,172.
