The men’s golf team finished in sixth-place at the MIAA Jamboree #6 today at the Wuskowhan Players Club.
WEST OLIVE, Mich. -- The Olivet College men's golf team finished in sixth-place at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree #6 today at the Wuskowhan Players Club in West Olive.
The Comets posted a 323 team score. The host Flying Dutchmen took first with a 297, followed by Trine 298, Calvin 300, Adrian 303 and Albion 318. Finishing behind Olivet was Kalamazoo 328 and Alma 336.
Sophomore Justin Ardelean (Owosso) and freshman Nick Julian (Clinton Twp./Chippewa Valley) led the way for Olivet with 79s. Senior Nick Harless (DeWitt) was next at 82, while freshman Ryan Bailey (Battle Creek/Lakeview) and junior Cameron Sich (Saginaw/Frankenmuth) each had an 83.
With two league jamborees left, the Comets sit in fifth-place in the seasonal standings with 1,829 total strokes. Trine is first with 1,788 strokes, which is 13 strokes ahead of Hope. Adrian is third (1,806) and Calvin is fourth (1,809).
The seventh jamboree is next Monday at the Watermark Country Club in Grand Rapids. The outing has a 1 p.m. shotgun start.
