Men’s golf team places third at MIAA Jamboree #5
Julian shoots a 71, and the men's golf team placed third at the MIAA Jamboree #5 this afternoon at the Lenawee Country Club.
ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Olivet College men's golf team placed third at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree #5 this afternoon at the Lenawee Country Club in Adrian. Freshman Nick Julian (Clinton Twp./Chippewa Valley) shared medalist honors with three other golfers with an even par 71.
The Comets carded a 302 team score, which was seven strokes behind first-place Adrian and three strokes behind Hope. Albion and Calvin tied for fourth with 305s, followed by Trine, 306; Alma, 317; and Kalamazoo, 333.
Julian had a 35 on the front nine and a 36 on the back nine. The next three Olivet golfers were each separated by one stroke, led by sophomore Justin Ardelean's (Owosso) 76. Junior Cameron Sich (Saginaw/Frankenmuth) and freshman Ryan Bailey (Battle Creek/Lakeview) were next at 77 and 78, respectively. Senior Nick Harless (DeWitt) rounded out the Comets' lineup with an 80.
Trine maintains its lead in the league's seasonal standings at 1,490. The next four schools are closely bunched together. Adrian is second at 1,503, followed by Hope, 1,504; Olivet, 1,506; and Calvin, 1,509.
The next MIAA jamboree is Monday at the Wuskowhan Players Club in West Olive. Action starts` at 1 p.m.
