Men’s golf team ties for fifth at MIAA Jamboree #4
The Olivet College men’s golf team tied for fifth at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree #4 today at the Millham Park Golf Course in Kalamazoo.

The Comets totaled 302 strokes to tie Trine (Ind.) University. Hope College took first-place at 293, followed by Albion, 295; Calvin, 298; and Adrian, 301. Kalamazoo (309) and Alma (313) were seventh and eighth, respectively.
Playing in his first league jamboree of the season, freshman Justin Ardelean (Owosso) posted Olivet's low round with a one-over-par 73. The score put him in a six-way tie for fifth-place in the player standings. Junior Nick Harless (DeWitt) carded a 74. Sophomore Grant Spencer (Olivet) shot a 76, junior Cameron LaFountain (Marshall) was next at 79, and senior Luke Godin (Barrie, Ontario/Innisdale Secondary) had an 81.
The Comets remain in fifth-place in the MIAA seasonal standings with a four-round total of 1,234 strokes, nine strokes behind Trine and only two ahead of Albion. Hope stays in first-place at 1,198. The next league jamboree is Saturday at Trine's Zollner Golf Course.
