Men’s golf team places seventh at OWU Strimer Invitational
The Olivet College men’s golf team placed seventh at the 2010 Ohio Wesleyan University Strimer Invitational. Today’s round was played at the Delaware Country Club, while yesterday’s round was at the Oakhaven Golf Course.

The Comets posted a 304 team score in the first round and a 326 in today's second round for a two-day total of 630 strokes. The host Battling Bishops took first-place with a 591 (290-301).
After needing 83 strokes to complete Saturday's round, senior Luke Godin (Barrie, Ontario/Innisdale Secondary) was nine strokes better today for a 157 (83-74) total. Sophomore Grant Spencer (Olivet) and junior Cam LaFountain (Marshall) each posted a 159. Spencer had rounds of 73 and 86, while LaFountain was 76 and 83. Junior Nick Harless (DeWitt) carded a 161 (77-84), and freshman Tyler Parkin (Alanson/Harbor Springs) was a stroke behind him each day for a 163 (78-85).
The Comets will next play in the Trine (Ind.) University/A.C. Eddy Invitational Wednesday at the Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Ind. The event has a 1 p.m. shotgun start.
