Men’s golf team finishes in second-place at seventh MIAA outing
The Olivet College men’s golf team finished in second-place at the seventh of eight Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) jamboree today at the Watermark Country Club in Grand Rapids.

The Comets posted a 309 team score to finish eight strokes behind Hope College. Tri-State was third (318), followed by Albion (321), Adrian (323), Calvin (324), Kalamazoo (328) and Alma (334). With its finish, Olivet also slips into second-place behind Hope in the overall league standings, 2,105-2,110.
Senior Joe Kiss (Battle Creek/Harper Creek) paced the Comets in today's round, returning to the clubhouse with a 75. The finish placed him in a tie for third-place in the player standings. Sophomore Branden Stewart (Barrie, Ontario/Innisdale Secondary) was next at 76, which tied him for sixth-place. Juniors Justin Lesansky (LaSalle, Ontario/International) and Eric Ross (Burlington, Ontario/International) each posted a 79. Junior Brock Gleadall (Stratford, Ontario/St. Michael's Catholic) rounded out the Comet lineup with an 81.
In addition, Kiss is tied with Hope's Matt Lapham for first-place in the MIAA leader board. Both golfers have totaled 519 strokes for a 74.1 average. In addition, Ross is fourth (75.0) and Gleadall is sixth (75.9). The top six golfers will earn first-team All-MIAA honors.
The final MIAA jamboree of the 2007 season is Saturday at Tri-State's Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Ind. Action gets started with a 1 p.m. shotgun start.
