Men's golf team finishes in fifth-place at OWU Strimer Invitational
The Olivet College men’s golf team finished in fifth-place (out of 16 teams) today at the Ohio Wesleyan University Strimer Invitational at the Oakhaven Golf Club in Delaware, Ohio.
The Olivet College men's golf team finished in fifth-place (out of 16 teams) today at the Ohio Wesleyan University Strimer Invitational at the Oakhaven Golf Club in Delaware, Ohio.
The Comets posted back-to-back team scores of 309 for a two-round total of 618 strokes. The host Bishops captured the team title with a 595 (301-294), followed by Otterbein (Ohio) College, 599; Wittenberg (Ohio) University, 614; and Tri-State (Ind.) University, 615. Otterbein's Andy Miller earned medalist honors with a 143 (73-70).
Junior Joe Kiss (East Leroy/Harper Creek) led the way for Olivet with a two-round total of 147 strokes, including an even par 71 in yesterday's first round. Kiss's score placed him in a tie for fifth-place in the player standings. Sophomore Brock Gleadall (Stratford, Ontario/St. Michaels Catholic) was next with a 154 (76-78). Sophomore Justin Lesansky (LaSalle, Ontario/International) had a 156 (80-76), followed by junior Christian Rowe (Midland/Dow) and sophomore Eric Ross (Burlington, Ontario/International) at 161 (82-79) and 167 (86-81), respectively.
