Men’s golf team ties for second-place at MIAA Jamboree #1
The Olivet College men’s golf team began Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play today and tied for second-place at the first of eight MIAA jamborees. Today’s jamboree was hosted by Albion College at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall.

The Comets tallied a team score of 308 strokes to share second-place honors with Adrian College. Tri-State (Ind.) University was first at 301 with defending MIAA champion Hope College finishing fourth at 309. Tri-State's Joel Bickel earned medalist honors with a MIAA-record 65.
Leading the way for Olivet was freshman Eric Ross (Burlington, Ontario/International) with a 74. Sophomore Joe Kiss (East Leroy/Harper Creek) and junior Derrick Sayers (Battle Creek/Lakeview) each had a 77. Senior Steve Ross (Rockford) was next at 80 and senior Mike Ward (Caledonia, Ontario/McKinnon Park) carded an 81 to round out the Comet lineup.
Olivet will host the next MIAA Jamboree on Tuesday, Sept. 13, at the Bedford Valley Country Club in Battle Creek. Action begins with a shotgun start at 1 p.m.
