Men’s golf team finishes in fifth-place at 12th Annual Pat Flowers Invitational
The men’s golf team finished in fifth-place today at the 12th Annual Pat Flowers Invitational hosted by John Carroll (Ohio) University. The invitational was played on the 27-hole layout at the Fowler’s Mill Golf Course in Chesterland, Ohio.

The Fighting Comets tallied a team score of 465 strokes. Mount Union (Ohio) College led the 11-team field with a 452. Lakeland (Ohio) Community College was second (461), Baldwin-Wallace (Ohio) College was third (462) and John Carroll was fourth (464).
Individually, junior Mike Ward (Caledonia, Ontario) tied for fifth with a 113. Freshman Joe Kiss (East Leroy/Harper Creek) was next with a 117. Junior Steve Ross (Rockford) and freshman Christian Rowe (Midland Dow) each fired a 119. Freshman Justin Gusczinski (Hanover-Horton) rounded out the Comet starters with a 122.
Senior Jon Stapleton (Oakville, Ontario) competed as an individual. He had a 27-hole score of 107 strokes, which placed him second among the 63 golfers in the invitational.
Olivet will next play in the Ohio Wesleyan University Strimer Invitational Friday-Saturday, April 23-24. Saturday's round will be played at the Dornoch Golf Club while Sunday's final round will be play at the Oakhaven Golf Club.
