The Olivet College men's golf team finished in second-place today at the fourth Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) jamboree at The Prairies Golf Course in Kalamazoo.
The Olivet College men's golf team finished in second-place today at the fourth Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) jamboree at The Prairies Golf Course in Kalamazoo.
The Fighting Comets had a team score of 300 strokes to finish behind Hope College, who had a 297. Tri-State tops the MIAA seasonal standings with 298.8 average, followed by Hope with a 301.8 average and Olivet with a 303 average.
Individually, junior Steve Ross (Rockford) tied for second today with a 73. He was followed by senior Jon Stapleton (Oakville, Ontario/Oakville-Trafalgar) with a 74 and senior Mike Dinner (Oakville, Ontario/St. Ignatius of Loyola) with a 75. Freshman Joe Kiss (East Leroy/Harper Creek) had a 78, and junior Mike Ward (Caledonia, Ontario) had an 82.
The fifth (of eight) MIAA jamborees is Saturday, Sept. 25, at the Pine River Country Club in Alma. The action will begin with a shotgun start at 1 p.m.
