Men's golf team is second at MIAA Jamboree #3
The Olivet College men's golf team finished in second-place today at the third (of eight) Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) jamboree at the Zollner Golf Course. The jamboree was hosted by Tri-State (Ind.) University.

The Fighting Comets had a team score of 289 strokes to finish behind Tri-State, who had a 10-under par 278. The Thunder also leads the MIAA seasonal standings with a 296 average, followed by Hope College with a 303.3 average and Olivet with a 304.0 average.
Individually, senior Jon Stapleton (Oakville, Ontario/Oakville-Trafalgar) and freshman Joe Kiss (East Leroy/Harper Creek) had a 71 to lead Olivet. They tied for fifth overall.
Juniors Steve Ross (Rockford) fired a round of 73 strokes, followed by senior Mike Dinner (Oakville, Ontario/St. Ignatius of Loyola) and junior Mike Ward (Caledonia, Ontario) with a 74 and 75, respectively.
The next MIAA jamboree is Wednesday, Sept. 22, at the Wildnerness Hills Golf Course in Kalamazoo. The action will begin with a shotgun start at 1 p.m.
