Men's golf team ties for fourth place at Tri-State Invitational
The Olivet College men's golf team tied for fourth-place today at the Tri-State Invitational at the Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Ind. The invitational will not count towards the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association championships.

The Fighting Comets carded a team score of 308 strokes to tie Alma College. Tri-State was the team champ with 294 strokes.
Leading the way for Olivet was freshman Dan Wiers (Byron Center/South Christian), who carded a 70 to share medalist honors with Jerid Winkle of Tri-State. Following Wiers were junior Andrew Wismer (Thornhill, Ontario/Thornhill Secondary) with a 75, junior Stew Halstead (Kelowna, Ontario/Mount Boucherie) with a 77 and both senior Andrew Knight (Kingsville, Ontario) and freshman Dan Kilberg (Rochester Hills/Rochester) with an 86.
The Comets are next action on Wednesday, Sept. 17 when they host the second MIAA Jamboree at the Bedford Valley Country Club in Battle Creek.
