Men's golf team finishes in first place at MIAA Jamboree
The Olivet College men's golf team finished in first place at today's first Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) jamboree at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall. The Fighting Comets are the defending MIAA champs.
The Olivet College men's golf team finished in first place at today's first Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) jamboree at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall. The Fighting Comets are the defending MIAA champs.
Olivet carded a team score of 305 strokes to beat Hope College by a stroke. Junior Mike Dinner (Oakville, Ontario/St. Ignatius of Loyola) was co-medalist with a two-over par 74.
Following Dinner were junior Jon Stapleton (Oakville, Ontario/Oakville-Trafalgar) and sophomores Steve Ross (Rockford) and Mike Ward (Caledonia, Ontario) all with a 77. Senior Ryan Spencer (Chatham, Ontario/Chatham-Kent) carded an 84.
The Comets are next in action on Saturday, Sept. 13 when they participate in the Tri-State (Ind.) Invitational at Zollner Golf Course. Next Wednesday, Olivet hosts the second of seven MIAA Jamborees at the Bedford Valley Country Club in Battle Creek.
