Dinner finishes in tie for 44th-place at NCAA Men's Golf Championships
Olivet College junior Mike Dinner (Oakville, Ontario/St, Ignatius of Loyola) finished in a tie for 44th-place among 120 golfers this week at the 2004 NCAA Division III National Men’s Golf Championships at the PGA of Southern California Golf Club in Calimesa, Calif.
Olivet College junior Mike Dinner (Oakville, Ontario/St, Ignatius of Loyola) finished in a tie for 44th-place among 120 golfers this week at the 2004 NCAA Division III National Men's Golf Championships at the PGA of Southern California Golf Club in Calimesa, Calif. He fired rounds of 79-80-69-79 for a four-round championships total of 307 strokes. Dinner was one of five individuals along with 23 teams chosen by a national committee to participate.
Dinner started his final round today with double bogeys on the second and fifth holes and a bogey on the fourth hole. He had a birdie on the eighth hole and pars on the other four holes for a four-over 40 on the front nine. On the back nine, Dinner had three bogies and six pars. He ended the day with a seven-over par 79.
Dinner had an outstanding third day of the championships, shooting a three-under par 69. The 69 was the second lowest round of the day, and tied for the fifth lowest lowest round of the championships.
