Miller named to the Verizon Academic All-District IV Men’s At-Large first-team
Olivet College men’s golfer Scott Miller has been named to the Verizon Academic All-District IV Men’s At-Large first-team.
OLIVET, Mich. -- Olivet College men's golfer Scott Miller has been named to the Verizon Academic All-District IV Men's At-Large first-team. Miller, a native of Barrie, Ontario, Canada, advances to the Verizon Academic All-America ballot. The Verizonteams are selected by sports information directors. District IV is comprised of schools from Alabama, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Tennessee.
As a member of the men's golf team, Miller was a two-time first-team All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) selection. During the 2002 fall season, he narrowly missed league medalist honors by 0.05 strokes as the Fighting Comets won their league-leading 18th MIAA championship. Miller averaged 75.33 strokes per 18 holes and shot a season-low round of 70 strokes.
Miller graduated summa cum laude with a 3.94 GPA in business administration. He was a member of Gamma Iota Sigma, an international risk management and insurance society. Miller received both the 2003 Donald A. Morris Award as one of the top six graduating seniors and the 2003 Gary Morrison Most Outstanding Male Athlete Award.
