Wiswary named MIAA Men’s Basketball Athlete of the Week
HUDSONVILLE, Mich. – Senior guard Noah Wiswary from The University of Olivet has been selected as the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week.
Wiswary, a graduate of Unity Christian High School, posted a 19.5 scoring average and totaled 11 assists in two games for the Comets last week. In a 90-62 setback to Calvin University, he netted a career-high 22 points, and followed that game with 17 points and eight assists in Olivet's 87-75 upset win over No. 2 Trine (Ind.) University.
For the week, Wiswary shot 59.1 percent (13-of-22) from the floor, including 50 percent (6-of-12) from three-point territory, and 77.8 percent (7-of-9) from the charity stripe for his 39 points. He had only four turnovers for a 2.8 assists-to-turnover ratio.
"I can't think of a better way to end Noah's senior day than with this honor," said Olivet head coach Sam Hargraves. "He's meant so much to this program, and in many ways other than just his performance on the floor. I couldn't be happier for him!"
Wiswary and the Comets are on the road Wednesday night to play Hope College. Tip-off from the DeVos Fieldhouse is 8 p.m.
